Though there are many impressive museums in the Boulder area, one you might want to check out is the World of Wonder Children’s Museum.

Kids can explore interactive exhibits and learn new things while having a blast! The notion that play is an essential aspect of learning is also prominent here.

The Museum of Boulder is an amazing educational spot for families!

The museum features the Children’s Discovery Zone Museum where kids can learn through discovery and imagination. It features tunnels, stairs, secret passageways, and more!

Kids will have a blast learning many interesting facts at the NCAR!

From learning about climate change to seeing a hailstone the size of a softball and watching as a miniature tornado is whipped up in front of their eyes, and getting an up-close look at how lightning is created, there are many educational and fun exhibits and activities for them at the NCAR!

The entire family will enjoy the many exhibits in history, art, and science at the Longmont Museum!

It also offers Discovery Days which is a program for children ages 2-6 and their caregivers that features hands-on activities through arts and crafts, music and movement.

The Overland Trail Museum hosts many structures from before 1915 that are still standing today and commemorates the historic westward migration of gold seekers and early pioneers. 

Kids will get to learn what life was like for the early Colorado settlers from many years ago.

The Museum of Natural History at the University of Colorado’s main campus is the perfect place for families to learn and have fun.

Families will find a great variety of special events and educational programs, as well as permanent exhibition galleries and changing exhibits that include butterflies, fossils, southwestern ceramics, stone tools, and more! Little ones will have an amazing time at the Children’s Discovery Corner.

Part of the Museums of Western Colorado, Dinosaur Journey in Fruita is a Paleontological and Geological museum highlighting fossils and dinosaurs from the region.

Kids will love seeing real fossils, cast skeletons, and robotic reconstructions of dinosaurs!  The museum features many hands-on activities and over 15,000 fossil specimens.
