The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) is located in the foothills to the Rocky Mountains. NCAR’s Visitor Center is open to the public every day of the week, offers state-of-the-art exhibits, a variety of public tour options, and custom school field trips.

Learn about climate change at the fascinating National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder. See a hailstone the size of a softball, watch as a miniature tornado is whipped up in front of your eyes, and get an up-close look at how lightning is created. Public tours are free!
